Project name: Supporting the mental health of Ukrainian wounded fighters and their family members through working together and through training Ukrainian health care and education personnel.

The aim of the project is to provide psychological support to Ukrainian combatants and their families through modern crisis psychology methods. To this end, psychological first aid methods for injured Ukrainian combatants and their families will be piloted in two Ukrainian health care institutions. The second main objective is to provide specialised training for Ukrainian mental health professionals and Ukrainian health care institutions treating war wounded, and to introduce modern crisis counselling techniques and techniques in health care institutions.

The project plans to introduce and implement psychological first aid in at least two health care institutions in Ukraine as an important method to prevent and alleviate post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental health conditions. To this end, visits by Estonian mental health specialists, professional training and information events in Ukraine and training of Ukrainian specialists in Estonia are planned.
